Many people spend all year working and saving up for that special vacation. Deciding on what to do for those special few days unplugged from the business world is the million dollar question. The National Park Service has been around since 1916. With over 400 locations covering 84 million acres of land, the opportunities are endless. The good news is National Parks are located in every state except Delaware and range in size from 0.02 to 13.2 million acres. Here are a few parks worth visiting that are located near some of the major cities we serve.
Just a short drive from the Miami International Airport in your rental car will get you to the Biscayne National Park. A unique park with features not found anywhere. The islands around the Biscayne Bay waters protect the coral reef that is a main feature of the park. Snorkel the reefs to see over 10,000 years of human history from pirates to shipwrecks. The islands are also the start to the Florida Keys.
If a cooler location is more your style then consider renting a SUV on your next trip to Seattle. The Olympic National Park also features several ecosystems to explore, tidepools, sandy beaches, and rocky clifs can all be found here. The park features auto touring via US Highway 101 that circumnavigates the park and get you access to all areas of the park.
One of the most famous National Parks can be reached by a scenic drive in your rental car from the city of Las Vegas. Your lungs will thank you at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. Visitors can admire colorful rock formations on hiking trails or take the 13 mile scenic drive.
