AGE REQUIREMENT

Must be at least 21 years of age or, in limited cases, the minimum age is 18. Rates higher for renters under age 25. Military/Government on official orders renting at government rate: 18 years old. Must show valid driver's license.

AIRLINE TICKET REQUIREMENT

When renting a car on cash basis, an airline ticket is required. When you are picking up your vehicle. The current airline ticket, boarding pass or airline confirmation number to or from city of rental must be presented to the rental agent at time of rental or higher rates may apply.

AIRPORT FEES

Orlando International airport imposes a fee on rental car transactions which applies if the customer exits the airport using the shuttle bus. E-Z Rent-A-Car collects this fee from our customers and remits the entire amount collected to the airport. The amount of the fee is 8.7% of the rental agreement charges, this charge will appear as a separate item entitled "Arpt. Fee" in the pre-calculation of charges set forth in your Rental Agreement.

CASH DEPOSIT

Qualifying renters who do not have a credit card must leave a cash deposit for their rental. All cash rentals, including prepayments, and the like: $100/day, with a maximum of $300/week will be collected in addition to the pre-calculated rental charges. When the rental car is returned in accordance with the rental terms and conditions, the cash deposit will be refunded.

CASH, RENTING WITH

Customer must meet E-Z Rent-A-Car's requirements for renting a car without a credit card.
Advance reservation required (walk-up customers cannot rent for cash).
Valid driver's license (See "Driver's License" and "Driver's License Eligibility" for details).
At least 21 years old (If an insurance company pays for your rental, or on military/government business with papers, 18 years old).
Return airline or train ticket (See "Airline Ticket Requirement" for details).
Verifiable phone number in name of renter.
Verifiable employment.

Passport required for non-U.S. citizens.

CHANGE OF EQUIPMENT (UPGRADES)

If you choose to rent a larger car than reserved, an additional cost per day determined at the time of rental is billed for the larger car. If reserved car category is not available, you receive next higher available car category at no additional cost.

CHILD SAFETY SEAT/INFANT SEAT

Safety-approved for infants and toddlers that weigh up to 40 lbs. Availability and daily rental rate are guaranteed when you reserve the child safety seat with your E-Z Rent-A-Car vehicle in the U.S. (See the "Special Equipment" section when making your reservation on line.)

COLLISION DAMAGE WAIVER (CDW)

An option, that if purchased at an additional charge per day, eliminates responsibility for damage to or loss of a E-Z Rent-A-Car car as long as terms of the rental agreement have not been violated. Collision Damage Waiver is NOT insurance. Prices vary by car class and age of the driver. Protection applies so long as terms of the rental agreement have not been violated Please refer to the rental agreement, rental jacket, and any underlying policies for the full terms and conditions.

CONFIRMATION NUMBER

Also known as a reservation number, this number provides a guarantee for a certain car category for a specific rate on a specific date at our rental location.

CONVENTION RATES

CREDIT POLICIES

DAILY RATES

Apply to all rentals less than five days (99 hours). E-Z Rent-A-Car starts counting a rental day at the time of rental with one day being up to a 24-hour period of time.

DRIVER'S LICENSE

Valid U.S. or International Driver License required and must be "in hand".
No Learner Permits accepted.
No photo-copies accepted.
Temporary licenses accepted only if for change of residence or replacement of lost or stolen license.
If no photo, description should match renter.

DRIVER'S LICENSE ELIGIBILITY

Rental may be subject to a verification of your driving record, including, but not limited to, verification to determine whether your license is suspended, revoked or expired. All renters/drivers are subject to having their driving records and licenses checked. If a renter/driver does not meet the applicable rental requirements, including the guidelines for drivers licenses and driving records, they may be denied a rental. E-Z Rent-A-Car is not responsible for the failure of any renter/driver to qualify for a rental under these requirements or guidelines.

DROP CHARGE

Also called an "Inter-City Fee". Fee assessed for renting a car in one rental location and returning the car to another Varies with rental location and time of year.

FUEL POLICIES/CHARGES

The basic rental rate you pay does not include the cost for fuel. There are two fuel options, both starting with a full tank of fuel in your car at the time of rental.
  1. You can return the car with a full tank of fuel and pay only what it costs you to refill the tank at a local gas station. If not full on return, you pay United Auto Rental for refueling.

  2. You have the option to pay E-Z Rent-A-Car at start of rental for fuel at price consistent with local full service pump prices (plus any taxes that apply) and return the car with an empty tank. No refunds for unused fuel.

HANDICAP/HAND CONTROL - EQUIPPED VEHICLES

Hand control-equipped vehicles are available for rental at E-Z Rent-A-Car for handicapped customers. These cars must be requested in advance by calling
800-277-5171 (See also "Special Equipment").

LATE CHARGES

E-Z Rent-A-Car calculates rates based on a 24-hour period. Your rate will be calculated based on the return time you agreed to when picking up the car. If you do not bring back the car on time, you may incur a late charge.

LIABILITY COVERAGE REQUIREMENTS

E-Z Rent-A-Car provides minimum state financial liability coverage in Florida. This coverage may only be applicable if your personal auto policy provides no coverage or inadequate coverage.

MAXIMUM RENTAL PERIOD

On the 28th day, renter must return to rental location to request a new rental agreement for additional period of time. New agreement is subject to availability.

MECHANICAL ACCIDENTS AND PROBLEMS

E-Z Rent-A-Car customers in need of emergency road service in Florida should call 800-277-5171 for help. All accidents must be reported to the police and an accident report completed. You must also notify E-Z Rent-A-Car within 24 hours of the accident, and you will likely be required to complete another accident report for E-Z Rent-A-Car's records and your own. This report is for both parties' protection, and is particularly important if you have purchased a waiver of damage. Be aware that statements you make may be made a permanent part of the accident report. Remember to be truthful and accurate as your statements may be used in legal claims. Once you complete the accident report, you should be able to continue your trip. Be sure to save all original receipts stating the reason for purchase of parts or labor, and the amounts.

MILITARY/GOVERNMENT RATE



For U.S. Federal government or Military personnel traveling on official or TDY orders:

  • Must show official orders or government issued American Express / credit card.
  • Cash deposit waived in lieu of official orders.
  • Additional driver fee waived.
  • The minimum age for rental is 18.
  • No underage driver charge.
  • CDW included in rate.


For U.S. Federal government or Military personnel traveling "without" official TDY orders:

  • Regular cash or credit card required (See "Cash Deposit").
  • Normal rental requirements must be met (See "Rental Qualifications").
  • Must show military/government I.D. for rate.
  • Minimum age to rent is 21.

NO-SHOW

E-Z Rent-A-Car charges a fee on the customer's credit card for vehicles that are reserved but not rented, if the reservation was not canceled within 24 hours of anticipated arrival.

OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT

Hitches, trailers, boats, handicapped driver equipment, and chains cannot be attached to an E-Z Rent-A-Car rental vehicle except where provided by E-Z Rent-A-Car.

OVERTIME

Rates are calculated on 24-hour periods. Cars returned after the agreed upon date and time but no more than three hours after the pre calculated return date and time will be charged an additional per-hour rate. Cars returned over three hours later than the pre calculated return date and time will be charged the full daily rate or extra day rate depending on the length of rental.

PARK AND FLY

"Park and fly" is offered at E-Z Rent-A-Car location, whereby the customer may leave his/her personal vehicle at our location for a daily charge and take the shuttle bus to and from the airport.

PICK-UP AT AIRPORT

Shuttle bus service is offered at Orlando location. Bus service shuttles passengers between airport and United Auto Rental office. Look for designated pick-up area; buses may not be permitted to stop at all curbside points.

PRIMARY RENTER

Driver listed first on the rental agreement. This person will pay for and be responsible for the United Auto Rental vehicle.

PROTECTION OPTIONS

As a renter, you have several options to protect yourself in case of accident, loss or damage to the vehicle.

They are:

  1. Relying on your own insurance policy on your personal vehicle.
    Some auto insurance policies cover rental car losses. However, coverage may vary. Be sure to check with your insurance agent before you travel to determine rental car damage and loss coverage and restrictions under your own insurance. There are some states that require auto insurance providers to cover their policy holders for damage to rental cars.

  2. Relying on your personal credit card.
    Some bank credit cards offer primary protection, in which case the card company will pay all damage or loss and not use your insurance policy. Most bank credit cards and charge cards offer secondary insurance protection. Secondary insurance protection provides benefits that cover any damage or loss not covered by the limits of your insurance policy. Be sure to verify what your credit card company will and will not cover. Never assume you are protected without getting the facts. Be aware that a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW), also called a "Loss Damage Waiver", from the car rental company is not insurance (See "Collision Damage Waiver", for details). It is an agreement between the car rental company and the renter that means that the company will not hold the renter responsible for accidental damage or loss and will pay for all costs itself unless the renter violates the terms of the rental agreement. Companies impose a daily charge for CDW. These charges range from $4.50 per day to as much as $22 per day. CDW is an optional charge. Liability insurance, not CDW, covers the driver against claims by others for bodily injury and property damage up to a specific limit.

REFUNDS

If a renter plans to pay in cash, United Auto credits the renter's credit card at the time the car is returned. If a renter has paid a cash deposit rather than using a credit card, the balance remaining (after charges are deducted from the deposit) is refunded at the end of the rental.

"Contract" between E-Z Rent-A-Car and the renter. Requires the renter's signature and lists total charges and conditions of rental.

RENTAL QUALIFICATIONS

You must have a valid driver's license issued by the state in which you reside.
You must be 21 years of age (or, in some limited cases, 18 years of age).
Prefer payment by valid major credit card in your own name.
If you intend to pay by cash, you must have a return airline ticket, a verifiable home phone number in your name, proof of employment, and post a cash deposit in addition to prepaying all rental charges.

RESERVATION

Confirmation of a vehicle which is reserved for a customer at a particular location, on a specified date, at an agreed upon price. Cars are reserved by rate code/car category.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR RENTAL VEHICLES

E-Z Rent-A-Car holds the renter responsible for the safe return of the rental car in the same condition as it was rented, except for normal wear and tear. Unless prohibited by state law, a renter may be held responsible for all damages, including loss of use, should the vehicle be damaged in an accident, stolen or vandalized. This is the case regardless of fault. Whether or not you caused the accident, you may be asked to pay for the damage up to and including the total cost of replacing the vehicle in case of a total wreck or loss. Be sure any estimated damage to the car has been recorded properly before you leave the rental facility.

RETURNING YOUR CAR

Give yourself ample time to return your car. While we pride ourselves on expediting the return, you may still need a few moments. Your car should be checked for damage at the time of return both by you and our return agent. If there is damage, you may be required to fill out a damage report. Make sure you take a copy of the damage report with you for any insurance and/or credit card reimbursement procedures.
